An iPod Touch Mock-Up Magazine Cover Design
Posted by Jody Mitoma on January 28, 2008
The ipodtouchfans forum member who goes by the name of Shade, had an idea. His idea was to create an actual magazine which spoke only of the iPod Touch.
Some say this idea is no good because there is not enough iPod Touch news out there to convey an entire magazine subscription. This, I do agree with, however, I still decided to open up my Adobe Photoshop and create a mock-up magazine cover design…
And this is what I’ve come up with, two hours later:
Feel free to comment or even critique my work as you please.
…
Update on the whole magazine ordeal (8:35pm [GMT -05:00]):
So. I just did a bit of research….
Check out my finidngs.
“If you want to take the high-end approach, plan on spending at least $5 million to launch a glossy newstand publication like PC Magazine. If you want to start a more modest magazine you would probably have to spend about $100,000.”
Magazine?… NOT happening.

nice, but with updates coming out so quick with apps that work and new jailbreaks and broken sources, they would have to update this magazine everyday and the only way to update something everyday is… a website…but…wait a minute, i just got an idea!

hehe, thx h4×0r.
Yea, this WOULD be a good idea… except, there is one problem. (CHECK THE UPDATE on this post to find out what I am talking about!) This ‘problem’ will definitely get in the way.
Looks like this’ll more-so be an ‘online magazine’, which I doubt I’ll be taking part in, since I’ve got my own blog to take care of.
Arial, thanks for the compliments on the idea and the blog itself.
Glad to hear that I’ve got some daily viewers. You know, it feels great knowing that I’ve got people coming back to my website for news on a daily basis.
h4×0r, Customize just got an update recently, which supposedly DOES work on the new firmware, and also, SMBPrefs, as far as I’m concerned, works as well.
Take care you two!

Investors, my friend. Investors and advertisers. You really think you’d have to spend any of your _own_ money? Capitalism, that’s where it’s at!
Mind you, such a magazine would be pretty niche market. You’d really have to include the iPhone at the very least; at least then you’d have coverage of the primary line of devices. Wouldn’t be difficult, either, since there’d be a hell of a lot of crossover involved.
