UPDATES on iPhone 1.1.3 Firmware Jailbreak Release –> DOES WORK WITH IPOD TOUCH!!
Posted by Jody Mitoma on January 24, 2008
Big news about the iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak, everyone! Looks like it does work for the iPod Touch after all!!
According to tens of members of the ipodtouchfans.com forums, and many other forums found Internet-wide, it is apparently possible to jailbreak your iPod Touch’s 1.1.3 Firmware using the iPhone 1.1.3 Jailbreak guide!
Edit:
I can now confirm this myself, as I’ve upgraded to 1.1.3 Firmware and Jailbroke it successfully.
Apparently everything works perfectly, except you will get a “pop-up” about something regarding the iPhone, which you may simply disregard and move on. This means nothing to iPod Touch owners.
When iPod Touch users use the iPhone jailbreak guide that was leaked earlier, they will have “Phone” and “SMS” icons on their spring board. The reason for this is because the iPhone jailbreak guide uses one of the iPhone’s main files, so, when iPod Touch users download this file, it’s going into their iPod Touch’s operating system, causing the new features – which by the way, are obviously not usable, as the iPod Touch obviously does not have Edge technology.
